Reiki for Solar Plexus, Liver Health & Allergies

One of the life's greatest miracles is the way in which all things are connected. There is no effect without cause. Nothing is abstract and no one does anything alone. Every breath, blink and step is the result of an entire universal collaboration between Source, mind, body, spirit and energy. There is no exception to this rule, great or small. (more)

Reiki Ebb & Flow

Reiki is the life energy that flows through all living things, plants, animals, humans, insects, etc. It is in constant motion, moving to and fro, in, through and out. It's like the ebb and flow of the tide, rushing in to collect and break up energetic debris and stagnant energy, then moving it out to the universe where it can do no harm. The power of Reiki is consistent, but the 'feeling' of its transmission varies from day-to-day and from practitioner-to-practitioner. One must be a clear channel to maintain a strong connection to Reiki for the purposes of self-healing and helping others. (more)

Reiki and the Language of Colors

Colors hold great power and meaning. Each season, Mother Nature graces us with a bounty of colors hinting at what we should be doing 'now.' March 20th is the first day of spring and nature's palette is changing to vibrant hues of green, yellow, and pinkish purple. Spirit speaks to us through a rainbow of colors that vibrate at different frequencies to encourage personal growth and good health. If ever you feel lost, alone or disconnected, you need only listen with your eyes and open your heart to messages spoken in the language of colors. (more)

Reiki and Returning to Spirit

I received a request for Reiki from a young woman living in Los Angeles whose mother was in a coma and hospitalized in Louisiana. I was in California. She requested distance Reiki for her ailing mother. I contacted her brother and father in Louisiana to ask the family's permission before channeling Reiki to the client. The family was welcoming and willing. The client was elderly (70+) and had been comatose for about three days. (more)

Reiki & Aromatherapy

Allopathic or western medicine has a goal to cure diseases and repair injuries. Complementary and alternative therapies seek to support the natural process by which the body repairs or heals itself. Healing occurs when the body is able to optimally perform basic physical functions such as digestion, respiration, circulation, elimination and perspiration. It is through these functions that living beings convert food, liquids and air into life sustaining energy or ki. Energy is in constant motion as it enters the personal field through the auras and is distributed by the chakras and, ultimately, is returned to the universe. When the chakras, aura and physical body are in alignment, the result is excellent health, clear thinking and an enhanced ability to self heal. One method to achieve this vibrational state is through Reiki and aromatherapy.

Used alone, Reiki invites the positive flow of energy for healing and balance of mind, body and spirit. As positive energy moves through the body's systems, negative energy flows out. Aromatherapy works on the physical body using absorption of pure, therapeutic grade essential oils to kill bacteria and viruses and stimulate the immune system. Further, aromatherapy and Reiki shift vibrational frequencies of a body to levels in alignment with various aspects of expanded consciousness. Used together, Reiki and aromatherapy work together to amplify healing energies.

Guided by Archangels Gabriel and Raphael, I was blessed with a healing therapy that combines the spiritual healing of Reiki with the physically transforming energy of aromatherapy. It is called WU Healing Touch AromaReiki. This therapy is a healing session that begins with a powerful meditation requesting the aid of the client's guides and angels for the best outcome of the therapy. Reiki is then administered for 45 to 60 minutes using:

  • Harth - to release guilt or other energies that may prevent complete love and acceptance of self.
  • Sei He Ki - for emotional and mental healing, positive change and the release of harmful behaviors.
This Reiki session puts the recipient into an almost hypnotic state of deep relaxation. It clears, opens and balances the chakras. It positions the client's energy field to receive healing on all levels as it preps them for the next step, a 45 minute aromatherapy session.

Undressed from the waist up, the client receives a prescribed application of five to eight therapeutic grade essential oils. Special attention is paid to the heart chakra, as it governs the immune system. The oils are selected based on the client's specific healing objectives and their current state of health. The application of oils is performed in a specific order that works with Reiki to achieve:
  • pain relief
  • homeostasis
  • physical detox
  • energy healing
  • Chakra balance
  • deep relaxation
  • emotional release
  • stress management
  • lymphatic movement
  • immune enhancement
  • inflammatory response
WU Healing Touch AromaReiki clients report some immediate pain relief, feeling free from worries and reduced stress. Recipients may experience Herxheimer's reaction as energetic and chemical toxins are released and processed out of the body.

Many Reiki practitioners are also aromatherapists and may have similar therapies available in your area. WU Healing Touch AromaReiki was developed by this blogger and is available exclusively at WU Wellness Loft in Los Angeles, California. Reiki for Weight Loss

A Personal Testimonial

As a rule, I resist the use of Reiki to address specific conditions. I believe energy is omnicient and omnipotent and will go where it needs to go and do what it needs to do without my direction. I also know without a doubt that there is no single weight loss "program" that is right for everyone. While I still hold firmly to these beliefs, I have claimed 2011 as a year of releasing limitations and boundaries and embracing all possibilities for the highest and most healing good of my clients and myself.

A recent phone call from one of my Reiki II graduates prompted me to try Reiki for weight loss. She used a method we reviewed in class, but that I never personally attempted. She lost 20 pounds in a couple weeks (and she looks great) without changing her eating habits or exercising! With results like that, I had to try it. The more I thought about it, the more it made sense. Reiki is energy and energy transforms matter. Just as it dissipates negativity and creates the free and open flow of positive energy, Reiki works to transform matter into energy ... even fat matter.  The 'how' is left to the universe.

Without planning or counting calories or subscribing to a 'diet,' here's how Weight Loss Reiki worked for me.

On January 5, I began a morning ritual of channeling Reiki energy to myself using the emotional healing symbol. I used a clear and simple affirmation; a modified version of one provided by Reiki Master Teacher Peggy Jentoft, "I release excess physical matter (fat) from my body and invite vibrant, life affirming light (energy) to assume its place."

The following week I heard India Holloway, a colon hydrotherapist, on the radio and was compelled to attend her introductory talk. I don't mean I made a decision to attend, I mean I was compelled.  I moved client appointments, arranged a sitter and kidnapped my significant other on a week night to hear this woman speak. There was no stopping me.

After hearing India speak, I scheduled an appointment with her on January 17, 2011 at the Life Well Institute in Culver City, CA. I lost two pounds during the procedure.

Ever the sharing spirit, India offers clients a 10% off coupon for a detox pack from Dr. Schulze's American Botanical Pharmacy in Marina del Rey, CA. I headed straight over to purchase my very reasonably priced 5-Day Bowel Detox pack. Mind you, I had no plans to detox immediately after a colonics. This was the universe responding to my requests. Dr. Schulze's is, hands down, the easiest, most forgiving, most accommodating bowel detox program ever! It worked without restrictive dietary demands and without chaining me to the bathroom. I tell you people, the experience was drama free!

I last weighed myself on January 23, 2011 and had lost 7 lbs. Because I am more focused on wellness than weight, I have decided not to weigh myself again until February 23rd, 2011.

Using Reiki and an intent to release excess weight, my vibrational frequency shifted into alignment with:

  • dietary modifications that support healthy living and weight loss
  • a desire to exercise daily at a level that is comfortable for me
  • therapies and systems that support healthy living and weight loss, and that fit into my life with little effort
  • resuming a vegetarian lifestyle after nearly 15 years
  • liberation from food addictions like flour and processed sugar
So, while my student changed nothing in her life and achieved desired results, I found myself fluidly guided to make choices that lead to my desired result with little effort. As always, the universe spoke to each of us in a language consistent with our respective sensibilities. Therefore, I am ecstatic to report that Reiki did, can and does work for weight loss!

Stress Kills. Reiki Heals.

The body's reaction to stress is called General Adaptation Syndrome or GAS. Sometimes referred to as "fight or flight," GAS begins when we feel an immediate threat to life. In the wild, the stress of being hunted initiates GAS in animals. They release adrenaline, muscles become tense, heavy breathing and a rapid heartbeat follow as they bolt into action, literally running for their lives. When there is no longer an immediate threat to life, stress reactors shut down, the heart rate slows, the body stops producing high levels of adrenaline and breathing becomes normal. This is key to survival in the animal kingdom. In humans, GAS is initiated in much the same way when we experience stress. The brain initiates 1400 different responses to stress including a release of adrenaline, tensing of muscles, rapid breathing, a tightening of the stomach and increased perspiration. Unlike animals, our stress reactors do not always shut down and they get revved up often as presence of stress in humans is not always tied to life threatening situations. Traffic, relationships, pet peeves and trivial frustrations can trigger stress reactors in humans. We sometimes think of something that made us angry and trigger a quickening of the heart as we revisit the incident in our minds. Our ability to think and reason and remember can hurl us into prolonged GAS again and again and again. So even though the near miss accident is over and we are now safe from immediate harm, our anger at the other driver and retelling of the story can lengthen the duration of stress reactors, causing permanent damage to our bodies.

In humans, GAS occurs in three stages, alarm reaction during which we prepare to do battle (fight) or escape (flight). This is an involuntary physical response to danger which dissipates once we perceive the source of stress is removed.

The second stage of GAS is called resistance or adaptation. It occurs when the source of stress is not removed and the body's defense mechanisms remain 'on' for an extended period of time. During this stage, we produce high levels of hormones that cause blood pressure and blood sugar levels to rise in order to sustain energy. If we remain in resistance stage for too long, we experience fatigue, irritability and an inability to concentrate. The body's defenses become overused as we move into the third stage of GAS, exhaustion.

In the exhaustion stage of GAS, the body has used up its reserve of energy and immunity. Blood sugar levels fall and stress tolerance is greatly reduced. Mind and body become exhausted resulting in decreased stress tolerance, illness and collapse. Prolonged stress and exhaustion can lead to heart attack, cancer, insomnia, ulcers, asthma, depression and death.

While we cannot eliminate stress completely, it is possible to shorten GAS by creating periods of rest and relaxation to counterbalance stress responses. You guessed it...REIKI!

During a Reiki session you have the opportunity to suspend and release negative thoughts, feelings and stress factors. The practitioner solicits help from ki to work toward your highest and greatest good. All the forces in the universe work to bring you calm, peace, healing and clarity. As the Reiki practitioner channels universal positive energy, negativity gives way to light and perfect love of self and others. Reiki is a solid hour of stress relief that empowers your mind, body and spirit to heal from the negative effects of prolonged General Adaptation Syndrome. For that time you are perfectly comfortable and safe from harm. Many have said they experience deeper relaxation during Reiki than during a regular night's sleep.  You will emerge feeling rested, fresh and crystal clear in your thinking. And all you have to do is be still and receive.

If you would like to assign a 'value' to your stress level, here is an Online Life Stressor Chart. Answer the questions and click the Check button at the bottom to get a general idea of your stress level.

Seek a Reiki practitioner in  your area that resonates with you on a soul level, or contact someone who is skilled at Distance Reiki. If it's your first time, ask for referrals and don't be shy about interviewing the practitioner before scheduling your appointment. For best results, start with three Reiki sessions approximately two weeks apart. After your initial three, discuss your results and further needs with your practitioner. The amazing healers below are available for hands-on and distance Reiki and they come with my uninhibited recommendation.

Remember, stress kills and Reiki heals. Happy healing, dear hearts.

Reiki For Your Car

I love to ride in cars but, thanks to a year of multiple auto collisions, I had lost my passion and a great deal of confidence for driving. Each stint behind the wheel was a test of resolve as I defensively navigated my way through crowded Los Angeles traffic. However, with the use of a few energy shifting techniques, I not only restored my confidence, but I transformed my car into a sanctuary and a magnet for positive energy and manifestation. Here are my tips for encouraging good ki (as Rei-ki) in your car.

Clutter on the outside creates clutter on the inside. Trash in the car makes it difficult for positive energy to flow freely and it blocks good concentration which is needed for safe driving. And the saying, "out of sight, out of mind" does NOT apply here. Junk in the trunk must also be cleared to open pathways for positivity to flow. Make it a practice to de-clutter your car, including the trunk and glove compartment, at least once a week.

Crystals amplify energy during Reiki therapy sessions and when performing Reiki in designated spaces. Carry hematite in the glove compartment. This powerful stone stimulates concentration, sharpens focus and synchronizes the spirit and physical bodies to quicken reflexes. Hematite also carries an energy that improves mechanical operations.

The flow of air in your car is as important as the flow of air in your home. When weather permits, drive or park your car with the windows open for several minutes each day. This simple strategy will prevent energy stagnation and quickly transport any negative energy out of the car while circulating positive energy inward.

If you know someone who seems to attract bad luck when it comes to cars (buying lemons, accidents, mechanical problems), introduce them to CarShui; it's feng shui for cars. This handy kit puts natural energy flow to work in cars by placing feng shui symbols in strategic places. Kits are very affordable at just $14.95.

The universe supports your endeavor to be a safe and happy driver. Call upon the energies and they will be there to support you --- long or short distance. I'd love to hear any testimonials you have to share on this topic, so please leave your comments below. Thank you and bon voyage.

Reiki Housekeeping: Energy Clearing & De-cluttering

Sometimes Reiki can be dirty business! Psychic debris can build up in the treatment area and serve as an obstruction to free-flowing positive and healing energy. Just as  you must dust, vacuum and wipe down your work area, you must also create a habit of clearing the energy in your work space (WS) and decluttering by removing psychic debris. The same is true for your living space (LS). Some signs of cluttered energy are:

  • Problems sleeping (LS)
  • Slow or no business growth (WS)
  • Feelings of anxiety depression (WS/LS)
  • Feeling like you're spinning your wheels and not progressing (WS/LS)
  • Feeling stuck and unable to make decisions (WS/LS)
  • Repeated nightmares (LS)
  • Sudden loss of interest in work, sex or other activities that usually hold passion and joy for you. (WS/LS)

Magical Housekeeping by Tess Whitehurst, a talented intuitive counselor, feng shui consultant and energy worker (and my personal friend!), offers many tips for creating a preserving your sacred space(s). My favorite chapter is Sacred Smoke & Aromas of Power, where she discusses the use of essential oils, incense, aromatherapy mists, candles and smudge sticks for invoking specific energies. I prefer diffused essential oils during Reiki sessions and smudge sticks a couple times a week for general space clearing. The result is always clear, pristine and powerful.

  • White sage can be burned to raise the vibration of dense energies, absorb negativity, drive out disturbances and protect your sacred space.
  • When burned, a rosemary smudge stick cleanses, protects, purifies and heals. It is perfect for any space where healing work is performed.
  • Add a peppermint essential oil to water and use it to clean furniture, floorboards and walls. This will remove evil and negativity.
  • In Magical Housekeeping, Tess Whitehurst writes:
"Desert sage also clears energy but in a different way. While white sage purifies by lifting vibrations and dissolving negativity, desert sage moves the vibrations around in a happy way so that bad vibes just naturally don't feel like hanging out."
One ritual for space clearing is to clear each room one at a time. Starting from the center of the room, use a feather, handheld fan or your cupped hands to navigate smoke outward toward the edges of the room. Make a spiral pattern with the smoke and state your intent or affirmation like, "this space is pure and safe from negative energies and all harm."  Fill the room with smoke and visualize negative energy moving out of the space as if by a vacuum. Close the door when finished and move on to the next room. When all rooms have been treated, give thanks to the guides and spirits who helped the process along.  Wait 10-20 minutes and, starting with the first room, open the doors and windows.

I hope you take time to put some of these practices to good use. Happy house cleaning to you!

Reiki & Keeping it Simple With Bath Soaks

Happy New Year! Nearly everyone I've spoken to is relieved to bid farewell to last year and welcome the vibrant and renewed energy of 2011. As we continue to spiritually evolve, we seek faster, better, simpler ways of be-ing so we can enjoy serenity and clarity of thought. Simplicity is undoubtedly the order of the day. Reiki fits snugly into the new paradigm of keeping it simple. The energy needs only to be beckoned and it will appear, ready to serve.

My favorite time of day is bath time. Morning, noon or night ... it doesn't matter. The healing power and ancient wisdom of water washes away fears and invites a deeper understanding of our connection to a greater source of love and energy.  The occasional bathing experience with candles, oils, bubbles and soft music is a rare treat in my very busy day. However, a Reiki charged bath combined with a single-ingredient soak never fails to energize and center even the most harried spirit.

The use of Reiki is usually passed down from Reiki Master Teacher to student in a 1-2 day workshop which culminates into an initiation. Anyone with at least a first degree Reiki attunement can use these methods to create a soothing, relaxing, rejuvenating and empowering bath.  Even if you're not Reiki certified, the soaks are still incredibly quick, simple and effective.

If you are Reiki-certified, draw Cho-Ku-Rei, Sei Hei Ki or Harth on your bath spicket or in the water to charge your bath with healing, relaxing Reiki energy. Set your intention as desired and add one of these single-ingredient soaks for an amplified healing experience. Non-certified bathers can skip the symbol and just add an ingredient to enjoy the curative properties of each.

  • Add 1-2 teaspoons of cold-pressed coconut oil to leave your skin soft and moist.
  • 2 tablespoons of lavender buds or flower petals add luxury and sensuality to any bath.
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons of freshly grated ginger makes a perfect pick-me-up, plus it relieves cold & flu symptoms.
  • 1 cup apple cider vinegar is a great way to combat itchy skin.
  • Fresh cut orange and lemon slices create a natural exfoliate in the bath, leaving your skin dewey and rejuvenated.

Reiki for Dr. Mom

Reiki is gentle, loving and effective as a complementary healing therapy. Universal life force energy (sometimes called chi, qi or prana) is always accessible and ready to aid in our healing process. If you're a Mom who wants to feel more in control of your child(ren) and family's health, consider adding Reiki to your healing arsenal as part of a self-care regimen, or you may wish to become a certified Reiki practitioner.

Reiki treatments can be tremendously relaxing and beneficial for people on the go. Sessions serve as dedicated "me" time. The benefits of slowing your mind and opening your heart are far reaching and long lasting. Stress relief, emotional release, restful sleep, improved focus and concentration, faster healing and clearer thinking are just a few benefits of Reiki. Some clients have reported lower blood pressure after several sessions. Because Reiki initiates an energetic and physical purging, it aids in the removal of waste from the body that may be the result of prescription drugs and poor dietary choices. Scheduling a Reiki therapy session is never a problem since they can take place either in person (hands-on) or from a distance. Adding Reiki to your self-care program will yield phenomenal results and greatly enhance your quality of life.

Learning to use Reiki for self healing and to help your family and friends is quick and easy. First degree or level I Reiki classes usually take place over two days. A sample course outline may include:
  • What Reiki is
  • Uses and benefits of Reiki
  • Reiki Precepts & Principles
  • A History of Reiki
  • How to ground & protect yourself
  • Hand positions for self treatment
  • Hand positions for treating others
  • How to conduct a Reiki session
First degree Reiki training will prepare you to use Reiki for self healing and certify you to heal others free of charge. The attunement/initiation activates your ability to serve as a healing conduit using pure energy from the universe. This level of training is perfect for Dr. Mom to develop and hone techniques for self-healing and healing others around her, free of charge. Reiki can place a great deal of control in the hands of the family caregiver. Empowered with the knowledge of Reiki, you can help yourself, your children, your family members and friends by:

  • calming hyperactive children
  • stemming feelings of anger and frustration in children and adults
  • encouraging deep relaxation and improved sleep
  • easing anxiety and stress for yourself and those around you
  • reducing pain and inflammation
  • relieving agitation and anxiety for yourself and others during times of stress
  • bringing comfort to the elderly
  • building confidence in children
  • relieving pain and discomfort from illness and injury
  • eliminating feelings of fear and uncertainty
  • improving self-confidence
  • calming and focusing your own mind in times of emergency
  • increasing your intuition
  • helping and healing yourself, loved ones, friend, pets and plants
From the little league field to at home use, Reiki will help Dr. Mom maintain calm and control over the many challenges that arise in day-to-day life. Reaffirm Your Affirmations

Affirmations are present-tense statements that confirm or verify reality. For some it's hard to accept that their world is created by their own thoughts and words. On conscious and sucbonscious levels, affirmations are working in our lives all the time. Scary, huh?

With the best of intentions, people everywhere craft lists of desired life changes in the form of affirmations. New Year's Day is probably the most common time for this ritual. Before long, these well-intended wants and dreams die an inglorious death as daily madness resumes its place in our consciousness. Positive affirmations, meditation and prayer give way to the hundreds, maybe thousands, of tasks that lay before us each day. Not to worry; here are a few ways to sustain your best intentions throughout the year and beyond.

Create account passwords that affirm.  How many times a day do you log into accounts on your computer?  Why not use the power of numbers to your advantage by creating user passwords that affirm your reality.  Some good ones may be Plenty0$in2011, MortgageFreeby2013, DebtFree4Ever, coaching150clients or 10999followers. Turn every mundane login into an empowering affirmation to support the reality you desire.

Keep affirmations in plain view. Nothing new here. But this trick often loses steam after months of looking at the same tattered note(s) taped to the bathroom mirror and refrigerator door. But with a bit of tweaking, this can become a very effective way to revive your affirmations. Use inexpensive business card stock to make affirmation cards. Keep them in a box or bowl or stack on your nightstand and before going to bed at night, grab one or two and put them on your iPad screen or tape one to the front of your iPod.  Tape one over the light switch in the kitchen or over the start button on the coffee maker. Put one inside or over the laces of your running shoes. Put one over your keyhole to your car or home. The point is to take a minute or so every night at bedtime to place one or two cards where they will be an obstruction, forcing you to touch, see and think about your affirmation the next morning.

Create electronic calendar alarms using your affirmations. Set them up on your Smart Phone and your desktop computers at work and at home. Each is a reminder to give thought and energy to the creation of the reality you crave.

I am affirming these tips are exactly what you need to create a better world for yourself and for everyone. And so it is.  Happy New Year!

Reiki for Menstrual Cramps

The medical term for menstrual cramps is dysmenorrhea.  The pain ranges from dull to debilitating in intensity, and leaves some women bedridden for a few days each month. The causes of abdominal cramps may vary, so it's important to seek a medical diagnosis if your monthly cramps are frequent and severe. Menstrual cramps may be felt in the lower abdomen, lower back and thigh areas.  Some women experience sudden perspiration, nausea, vomiting, a light-headed feeling and loose stools. This blogger believes every physical condition is a manifestation of something on a spiritual and emotional level. Internationally acclaimed spiritual teacher, Marianne Williamson, says a probable cause of menstrual problems may be rejection of one's femininity, guilt, fear, or a belief that the genitals are sinful or dirty.

According to the Mayo Clinic, menstrual cramps occur when the uterus contracts as it works to expel its lining.  During this process the body produces hormone-like substances called prostaglandins. Higher levels of prostaglandins trigger pain and inflammation and are associated with more severe menstrual cramps.

Because Reiki is pure energy, it works well with any medical treatment plan. It will not interfere with your doctor's orders and can be used safely and effectively while taking over-the-counter and prescription drugs.

A Reiki therapy session for the relief of menstrual cramps will bring relief. Some clients feel better within the first few minutes.  Reiki is equally effective whether performed in person (hands on) or from a distance. During the session I may, with the permission of the client, call upon Archangel Raphael and any of the client's ancestral and spiritual guides to assist in the healing. Body scanning and a pendulum may be used to identify energy blocks for my own information as a healer. I do not attempt to direct energy as it is completely intuitive and knows where to go and in what quantities for the highest good of the client. If guided to do so, I may channel green light energy with an intent to address the direct cause of the cramps.

Of the thousands of products available for the relief of menstrual cramps, my two favorites are Menstrual Cramp and Abdominal Oil by Dherbs and Queen Afua's Womens Life Formula VII.  I've used both with great results and I've been recommending them to clients for many years.

A healing exercise you can do for menstrual cramps is to lie comfortably with the palms of your hands on your abdomen.  Take slow, deep, rhythmic breaths.  Be aware of your breath and clear your mind. Imagine green light raining gently over your entire body.  Visualize healing energy flowing through your palms. Do this for 3-4 minutes with a clear mind.  You can follow with this affirmation by Marianne Williamson:  I accept my full power as a woman and accept all my bodily processes as normal and natural.  I love and approve of myself.

Feel free to comment on this post.  I am particularly interested in feedback on remedies recommended in this blog. As always, I wish you love, light and happy healing.

Reiki in the Courtroom

California's approximate 37,238,114 residents file nearly 1,400,000 lawsuits annually.  We are reputed to be one of the most litigious states in the country ... or perhaps the world!  A recent report by California Citizens Against Lawsuit Abuse (CALA) found that the fiscally ailing Los Angeles Unified School District spent almost $45,000,000 in litigation costs over the last three years. While Californians argue cases that are often frivolous and without merit, anger, frustration, stress and wasted taxpayer dollars continue to take their toll on our financial, mental and physical health.  With such staggering numbers, it stands to reason that if you live in California long enough, you will be sued.  It happened to me.

Being dragged to the courthouse on unfounded charges was frustrating and stressful. Never having been sued, I didn't know if I would be blessed with a reasonably fair judge who would look at the legal issue being presented, or someone who would react irrationally like the individuals who filed the suit.  While I am grateful for every life experience and the education it provides, this one was a doozy. Two trips to downtown Los Angeles (the first date was postponed), $30 for parking, wasted time, opportunity cost and the knowledge that lost tax dollars and time were unrecoverable. This was a time for Reiki and a keen focus on positive outcomes in the highest and best interest of everyone involved.

  • On the morning of my hearing and with an open and clear heart, I prayed/meditated asking that the day unfold for the greatest good of everyone involved, including the plaintiffs in my case.
  • I recited 108 repetitions of a Tara chant which frees us from 'everyday' dangers and from a narrow conception of the spiritual path, while leading us to a place of compassion.  (Click here for that chant and its meaning.)
  • I drew Cho Ku Rei in my doorway for protection from harm and spiritual guidance upon my exit from home.
  • Before speaking, I drew Sei Hei Ki in front of my face, that my words would take on an energy of love and healing before reaching the listeners' ears.
  • I exhaled and released (as much as humanly possible) attachment to the outcome of the day.
I felt immediate relief, thanks to the gift of Reiki to participate in my own healing. I was guided to temper my words with love and compassion, not fear and anger.  My comments were well-received by the judge and all charges against me were dismissed.  Add one more point to the scoreboard for Reiki, it is unadulterated universal life force energy, immune to manipulation by mere humans, and available for everyone's use.

Honoring Your Divine Self

Loyalty is a steadfast allegiance with a person or cause. It is the act of devoting yourself to something or someone with your whole heart. Divine loyalty is unshakable faith in your own ability to speak to, hear and receive guidance from God.  It is being committed to the care and preservation of you as an embodiment of the Divine energy that runs through all living things. Divine loyalty is a beautiful gift we give ourselves.
When we are loyal to our own divinity, we are fearless and confident. We live in comfort, knowing that we have everything we need.  Divine loyalty helps us to access and utilize our many talents and gifts to strengthen our capacity for self-love and the ability to love others in a healthy and productive way. It helps us transcend the dense energy of the material world so we can unlock the unlimited abundance of the universe. Divine loyalty is the key to liberation from the constraints of mankind's material world. It is through this honoring of our Divine selves that we connect to the Higher Self and stabilize a consciousness that is grounded in truth. And it all starts with you.
Self care is a very important first step toward Divine loyalty. It is the practice of taking care of your whole self --- your body temple, your mind, your heart and your spirit. Self care is the highest form of spiritual giving to yourself and others. The more you care for your self, the more you are able to care for others. The more you care for your self, the more knowledge, wisdom and power you possess to execute your assigned Divine life tasks.  When we grow spiritually we quicken the pace of evolution, which requires a lot of energy. If we listen, the body will tell us what it needs to keep up with spiritual expansion. Take time to tune in and respond to the subtle hints your body is giving. Are you getting enough rest? Are you eating foods that provide the vitamins and minerals your body needs? Are you exercising for endurance and strength? Are you taking in plenty of water to aid your physical detox and the release of negative emotions and energy?
In her book, Journey to the Heart: Daily Meditations on the Path to Freeing Your Soul, author Melody Beattie wrote: "By taking time to honor the body, to honor its shifts and needs, it will be there for you in a way that it has never been before. Rest and care will help it come back to center quickly. You will have the benefit of a healed spirit and a body that was allowed to adjust and adapt to that healing process. You will be honoring the oneness of body, mind, and soul. You will be honoring your newfound connection. Taking time to honor the needs of your body is taking time to respect the needs of your soul."
